Why it matters

For graduate applications, your university transcript is THE primary academic credential — replacing the high-school transcript that mattered at the undergrad stage. Admissions committees scrutinise course rigor, grade trends, and any major-related performance.

How to get it

    Visit your university's registrar / examinations office in person. Some Ghanaian, Nigerian, and Kenyan universities now offer online transcript ordering.

    Submit a formal request — most universities have a transcript request form.

    Pay the issuing fee (varies; typically GHS 100-300 in Ghana, ₦5,000-15,000 in Nigeria, KSh 1,000-3,000 in Kenya per copy).

University of Ghana, KNUST, UCC, and Ashesi all issue transcripts on official letterhead with the academic registrar's stamp. KNUST and Ashesi have streamlined online ordering. For programs requiring WES evaluation, your registrar will mail the sealed transcript directly to WES on your behalf.
